THE FEMALE SOLDIERS MUSES “NORA” AND “ELLA” ARE AVAILABLE
Created by CLAUDE DESJARDINS

The original versions of these female “Soldiers of Peace Witnesses”, named “ELLA” [ see here ] and “NORA” [ see here ], were created in Victoria, British Columbia, in Canada, during the winter season of 2002, by Claude Desjardins, sculptress and initiator of a worldwide peace project.

They are two of the project’s muses, and 100 copies were made in Montreal through a process of moulding in drystone. Their unique black patina finish was created through the fire baking process, which make each copy unique. “NORA” is 9 inches tall and 5 inches wide and “ELLA” is 8 inches tall and 4 inches wide.

They each wear a necklace made from a sunflower seed, which symbolizes the return to light. The gold on the wounds from their body reminds us to honour our own wounds, which we all carry within. These wounds are not just the result of our human experience, they are a fundamental part of what makes us humanly richer, a part which help us to make peace with ourselves. The sunflower seed will help shine the light on these inner treasures.

By acquiring a replica of a female “Soldier of Peace witness” created by Claude Desjardins at a cost of 200$, you become an important sponsor of peace in the world, which begins with peace with yourself. Your action will create a ripple effect and will inspire others.

Along with your female “Soldier of Peace Witness”, you will receive a certificate of authenticity with a serial number and Claude Desjardins’ fingerprint signature.

There will only be 100 replicas of “NORA” and “ELLA” throughout the world.
